This diagram outlines the pathway for our junior players as they move from our local junior competition on a Friday night and their school competitions all the way through to playing Junior State Cup to Opens or Premier League for Manly and then on to Regional, State and National representation.

  • SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

    SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA WEBSITE

    The School Sport Australia tournament is hosted by School Sport Australia and sees sides from each of the eight states in Australia compete in under 12’s Boys and Girls and under 15’s Boys and Girls divisions. This tournament gives the best juniors a chance to put their name forward for possible selection in the National Youth Squads.

  • JUNIOR REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

    JUNIOR REGIONALS WEBSITE

    This event is open to NSW touch football regions in the 12, 14, 16 & 18 years divisions. Each team is selected by the region via a combination of Junior Regional Championships and the Junior State Cup. This event is rotated around the State each year and conducted during the April School Holiday period.

  • NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

    NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS WEBSITE

    Many of the nation’s Touch Football players are introduced to the sport through the school sporting system and so to cater for this age group, the National Youth Championships (NYC) were created.

    The NYC was created as an U18s competition, but now also includes U12s thru U16s age divisions for NSW & QLD regional based teams. NYC is held annually and allows young participants to compete at the highest level.

  • NATIONAL TOUCH LEAGUE

    NATIONAL TOUCH LEAGUE WEBSITE

    Created in 1997, the National Touch League (NTL) is held in March each year, and has been the premier event for Touch Football Australia.

    The event is used to showcase representative Touch Football to the nation across Open, Youth and Senior divisions, giving the nation’s best Touch Footballers a chance to compete with and against each other.

  • STATE OF ORIGIN

    STATE OF ORIGIN WEBSITE

    The State of Origin concept was introduced following the creation of the National Touch League. The event was created to continue to build on the rivalry between the two strongest Touch Football states in Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.

  • TRANS TASMAN TEST SERIES

    TRANS TASMAN TEST SERIES WEBSITE

    The Trans Tasman Test Series sees the rivalry between the two top Touch Football nations, Australia and New Zealand, battle it out for bragging rights.

    The series takes place annually in the Open divisions (Mens, Womens and Mixed) except for in World Cup years. The Youth and Masters divisions are held every second year.

  • FEDERATION OF INTERNATIONAL TOUCH (FIT) WORLD CUP

    FEDERATION OF INTERNATIONAL TOUCH WEBSITE

    The World Cup is held every four years, with the next event to be held in Malaysia in 2019.

    The most recent World Cup was held in New Zealand in 2015 and saw the Australian teams take out the three Open division finals (Men’s, Women’s and Mixed) against New Zealand.
