ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONTRIBUTION OF KERRI MCLEOD

Manly Touch would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the enormous contribution Kerri McLeod has made to our club as she steps away from Junior State Cup coaching this season. Please read on after viewing the gallery.

Kerri McLeod is a Life Member of Manly Touch. Amongst numerous roles across the club, Kerri has coached our representative U10 Junior Girls teams attending Junior State Cups and interclub Gala Days spanning an amazing 15 years.

Kerri has literally introduced touch football to hundreds of Manly Touch girls through trials, social competitions and representative touch – many of whom have gone on to reach the highest levels of touch football. Kerri almost has celebrity status amongst hundreds of families who will rightly claim that the impact of Kerri’s coaching, the nurturing of their girls and encouraging fun at all times, has resulted in lifetime memories, life skills and lifelong friendships for the players and families. Unlike many sports celebrities, however, Kerri is also incredibly humble and the first to acknowledge others, not herself.

After so many voluntary years on the Junior State Cup circuit, Kerri has decided that the time is right to step away from JSC coaching. Kerri we cannot thank you enough for everything that you have done for our Junior Girls and our club. Thank you.

We also warmly acknowledge Kerri’s fantastic partner in crime, Scott McLeod. “Manager extraordinaire”, “a fantastic communicator” and “nothing is ever an issue” are comments that families share about Scott. Most definitely a key contributor to this gun coaching group and sincere thanks to Scott for all that you have done for so many of our members, players and touch families.

We must also publicly acknowledge another secret to the success of this close-knit coaching crew and thank Brittney McLeod and Tina Clancy. Balancing their own touch commitments, personal commitments, attending training, patiently teaching the fundamentals of touch football, smiling and providing such a special role model figure for so many girls has been a huge ask. Like Kerri and Scott, they have done this for the love of what they do, volunteering their time and expertise to so many. Thank you, Britt and Tina, for positively impacting so many members of our Manly Touch community via your coaching.

You all leave a legacy that is unlike any other and we etch this into our Manly Touch history forever:

  • Semi-finalists 4 times
  • Grand finalists 11 times
  • Junior State Cup Premiers 5 times

On behalf of Manly Touch and the hundreds of players and families you have supported, and indeed our entire Manly Touch membership, sincere thanks and gratitude Kerri, Scott, Britt and Tina for coaching the last 15 years.

Best Wishes,

Manly Touch Executive Committee: Ian, Stu, Mel, Elizabeth & Kate

and Junior Representative Director: Lowie
